| Winners of Holiday Hotel Best Costume Contest
|
Mini ghouls and goblins invaded the
Holiday Hotel last Friday for the first-ever children's costume party. From the
youngest attendee, a two month-old baby dressed in a Minnie Mouse costume, to
the more elaborate older ones, over two hundred children came out to celebrate
this spooky evening. Tasty treats were on sale for the hungry haunters who had a
whale of a time scaring their friends. With such creative and original costumes,
the judges (two visiting guests and Miss San Pedro Dilcia Trejo) had a hard time
choosing the winners. After taking a long look at all the participants they
voted the Princess of the Dark Sea (Eleena Ayuso) the cutest, the Flashing Eyed
Skeleton (Maxie Enrique Staines) the scariest and the Plant Person
(unidentified) as the most creative costume. Five consolation prizes were also
given and the first 150 children received a "trick or treat" bag of loot.
On Saturday, it was the older creatures of
the night who came out to celebrate. Although it rained cats and dogs, the
weather did not stop the faithful party-goers from having a "ghoulish" good
time. Cool J's Band provided great dancing music for the "monster mash bash"
enjoyed by all. In the end Yolanda Rivero was awarded the Most Creative prize
for her tarantula costume. Most Scariest went to "Chainsaw Jason" who did not
identify himself and the Most Elegant to Michele the medical student - a
beautiful mermaid. The group prize was given to the "drag queens," a group of
pilots from Tropic Air. As expected, the annual Holiday Hotel Halloween Party
was another "boo-tiful affair!"
