San Pedro's most anticipated event, the International Costa Maya Festival, is
confirmed for August 15th to
the 18th. In a meeting held
last Monday, the directors decided that instead of six days they would stick to
the four-day festivity plan which was adopted last year and proved to be very
successful. The following festival schedule was
agreed upon by the directors: Thursday, August 15 th - Miss Costa Maya Pageant. This year
the committee is inviting representatives from Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama
to participate in the pageant. Friday, August 16th - Cultural Night. Saturday, August
17th - International Night.
Sunday, August 18th - Grand
Sunday. The committee is already soliciting bids for the main attraction and
hopes to announce the international star next week. The
next meeting of the Costa Maya Committee will be held on Tuesday, May
7 th at Amigos del Mar. The San Pedro Sun will feature more details of the
Costa Maya Festival as they become available.
