Reina de la Costa Maya 2002 Senorita Elsa Burgos

     It's so difficult to describe in words, what it meant for me to have won the crown of International 2002 Reina de la Costa Maya but I'll do the best I can.

     Everything started as a dream; I can still remember the long voyage I took with an uncertain destiny, the only thing I knew is that they called it "La Isla Bonita" and now I know why.

     As I arrived here, my expectations were surpassed, and just by looking at the beautiful scenery my eyes were full of tears. To my surprise, the people were even more beautiful; their courtesy, naturalness, and joyfulness immediately stole my heart.

     As the days went by, I discovered many things that I had never experienced before, such as the direct contact with nature, the sea, the starry nights, and the smiles of the people of San Pedro which are so abundant here. These were small details that made a big impression.

     I felt like a winner even before I received the crown. When I was chosen, I heard the sincere happiness of the people and that is indescribable with words. Now that I have to pass on the crown, I want to wish the best to the future queen, and I hope that she enjoys it as much as I did.

     There are some special people who marked my life and made my dream of being here a reality. I would like to give a special thank you to Gach for giving me the opportunity to be here and all of your kindness to me. Wil, thanks for all your hard work, and for bringing me here. Marisa, thanks for your smile and your support. Mari, thanks for all of your patience, you are like an older sister to me. Einer, thanks for lending us Mari. San, you are an excellent friend, thanks for your good humor, all right!! Dustin thanks for believing in the "Mexicana". To the Mayoress, Elsa Paz, thanks for allowing me to enjoy the festival. Thanks to all the people who work at Ramon's Village Resort, Amigos del Mar, and all of the restaurants that we visited while we were here because they treated us so wonderful.

     I would like to thank my family, especially my mom for all the confidence she had in me, but above all, I thank God for allowing me to see this paradise and for never letting go of my hand.

     Thanks to everyone who believed in me and for all the love they gave me. I hope that you don't forget me, because I will come back soon.
